Me\u0111utim, tim istra\u017eiva\u010da sa MIT (<a href=\"http:\/\/web.mit.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Massachusetts Institute of Technology<\/a>)odlu\u010dio\u00a0je\u00a0da ih ne ostavi u pra\u0161ini. Umesto toga, oni su usavr\u0161ili dizajn i do\u0161li do klasi\u010dne sijalice koja je nekoliko puta energetski efikasnija od dioda(LED) i fluorescentnih sijalica. MIT tim je otkrio na\u010din umotavanja vlakna sa posebnom kristalnom strukturom unutar stakla sijalice ,kako bi se \u201creciklirala\u201d energija koja se obi\u010dno izgubi. Rezultat je, prema testovima,sijalica sa u\u017earenim vlaknom koja emituje toplu svetlost sa 40 odsto efikasnosti. Umesto klini\u010dki bele svetlosti poput LED, nova sijalica pokazuje boje mnogo prirodnije, bli\u017ee dnevnoj svetlosti. To se meri CRI indeksom \u201cColor rendering index\u201d, a sijalice sa u\u017earenim vlaknom imaju index 100,\u0161to ozna\u010dava podudaranje nijanse sa dnevnom svetlo\u0161\u0107u.
